1:1 MARRIAGE COACHING

We both came into this weekend carrying a lot of hurt and pain. Our marriage felt like we were at an impasse and neither of us knew where to go from here. After investing a year of time and resources in marriage counseling with different counselors, we were left even more hurt and at odds than we had been before it started. Like a ship lost at sea, reaching out to Frontline Marriage was our SOS. The experience was soul piercing, guided entirely by the Holy Spirit and facilitated by two marriage counseling experts who constantly pointed us back to the cross. We left the experience healed, both individually and as a couple. Armed with generous revelations from the Holy Spirit along with tangible tools and new skills that we were able to practice over and over again with the guidance of Matt and Angel, we are both able to truly move forward in our walk with Christ and in the covenant we made to one another three years prior. God sweetly smiled on our family when the weekend was punctuated with a double rainbow visible from our apartment balcony - a beautiful and loving reminder that God had a new beginning in store for our marriage and our family!

We came to the Rigsbys during one of the darkest seasons of our lives. We cared for one another, but the love felt gone, the trust was broken, and hope seemed lost. How could we possibly restore what had been shattered? We knew God could do it… but with us? From the moment Angel and Matt sat with us, we knew we were going to be more than okay. Not only did we begin relearning how to communicate and offer each other grace, but we also started breaking cycles we had unconsciously carried for years. Slowly, our marriage began to blossom. We often say we’ve had two marriages: the one before that season, and the one after. Today, we are more in love than ever, and we even parent differently. And the cherry on top? A couple of years after our counseling with the Rigsbys, my husband’s kidney failed—yet he was able to receive mine. If it wasn’t for our second chance, who knows where his health would be now! After being married for two years and having our first child, we ended up splitting homes because of our own issues, but Matt and Angel stepped in with so much patience, love, and Christian guidance. They helped us see that separating our family would only continue the generational chains we were trying to break. Now, fourteen years together, with 4 children, we continue applying everything we learned in their marriage ministry. Matt and Angel were exactly what we needed at that time in our marriage. We were in a crisis and felt like every force, internally and externally, was pulling us apart. Every word, every interaction, was difficult and painful. We had gone to some inner healing, which was really helpful for each of us personally, but we had no tools of how to move forward together. We had lost trust and kept falling back into the same patterns of pain. There was a total block in our relationship of how to communicate to each other and how to understand one another.

Matt and Angel helped us to see each other again, and taught practical principles for our marriage. We felt for the first time like we could trust, communicate, and start a path back to feeling the love that we had once felt for each other.

Matt and Angel didn’t judge our situation. They provided a safe place for transparency and accountability, and gave us the hope we needed to move forward.

Healing doesn’t always happen overnight, but this was the turning point that was instrumental in our healing. Matt and Angel have a long history of walking with the Lord and are filled with the Holy Spirit. They minister under the power of the Holy Spirit, which makes all the difference.
